Alfred Campanella is the executive vice president of strategic business growth and analytics at Virtua. He has more than 20 years of experience in health care management, patient financial services, and information systems, both in clinical and financial applications. In his current role, he is responsible for forging new business opportunities for Virtua. Previously, he served as Virtua's Chief Information Officer.
Prior to Virtua, Campanella worked in the consulting industry for eight years, first for CTG Healthcare Solutions and later for Deloitte Consulting. As a consultant, he advised a variety of clients across the country in the areas strategic planning, change management and IT project management.
Twelve years prior to consulting work, Campanella began his career at Johns Hopkins Hospital where he was the Assistant Administrator of Surgical Sciences. He later worked at the University of Pennsylvania Health System for nearly ten years in several director-level roles in the areas of clinical department administration, patient accounting and information technology.
Campanella has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Georgetown University, a Master's Degree in Health Finance Management from Johns Hopkins University, and a Master's Degree in Theology from the Weston Jesuit School of Theology. He received his Certification as a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute.
