Biography: As vice president and chief nursing officer, Ann Campbell sets strategic direction for nursing, and provides professional and clinical expertise throughout Virtua. She oversees nursing services for the acute care facilities, long-term care, home care and ambulatory services. Campbell represents nursing at the board level and represents Virtua in various professional organizations. She was appointed to this position in 2001.
Before joining Virtua, Campbell was president and co-owner of Professional Health Care Consultants in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and was formerly with Brandywine Hospital and Trauma Center in Coatesville, PA. There, she held various management positions, including director of education, chief nurse executive, and vice president of patient care services.
Campbell is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives, the Health Care Advisory Board, and the New Jersey Hospital Association. She is also on the Patient Care Committee of the NJHA's American Organization of Nurse Executives (ONE).
Campbell attended the Wharton Program for Nurse Executives in 2004 and holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin and a master of science degree in nursing from Marquette University in Milwaukee.
