Matthew A. Zuino is the Senior Vice President for Population Health for Virtua North. In this position, he leads operations at Virtua Memorial Hospital while developing and integrating programs across the continuum of care to serve the needs of the surrounding community.
Prior to this position, Zuino was the vice president and chief operating officer for Virtua Medical Group. Previously, he served as vice president of operations of VMG. He was responsible for coordinating and executing Virtua’s Physician Organization strategy. In this role, Zuino had operational responsibility for Virtua’s more than 125-member multi-specialty physician practice with more than 25 locations caring for patients in Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties.
Zuino served as assistant vice president of the cardiovascular program of excellence for Virtua Health starting in 2004. In this role, Zuino developed and executed system-wide strategic plans related to cardiovascular growth through partnerships with physician and hospital operations. During his tenure, Virtua was awarded Certificates of Need for a Full Service Cardiac Catheterization Lab, two Acute Intervention Programs as well an Elective Angioplasty Demonstration program.
In 2002, Zuino was selected and trained as a Six Sigma Black Belt. In this position, Zuino provided hands-on expertise to solve problems and plan projects, while working with both leadership and multi-disciplinary teams to develop, execute and complete process improvements and re-engineering efforts. Zuino also lead, mentored and coached Six Sigma Green Belts and provided oversight on operations, quality, financial and customer services initiatives.
Zuino began his career at Virtua in 2000 as Assistant Director of the Employee Service Center. In this position, Zuino was responsible for Virtua’s Human Resources Information System and management of the department.
Zuino obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Widener University School of Business. He earned a Master of Science in Information Technology from Drexel University.
