Robert M. DiRenzo, MD, was promoted to senior vice president and chief medical officer of Virtua Medical Group in 2012. He is responsible for coordinating and executing Virtua’s Physician Organization strategy.
In this role, Dr. DiRenzo has overall physician operational responsibility for Virtua’s 140+ member multi-specialty physician practice with over twenty-five locations caring for patients throughout Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties.
Dr. DiRenzo is a board certified family physician who came to Virtua in 2006 to assist with the development and physician strategy for the health system. He has an extensive background in both clinical and administrative medicine and has held various leadership positions in health care; President, Partners in Primary Care; Medical Director for South Jersey, Jefferson Health System; Medical Director, Jefferson Affiliated MSO; Medical Director, Southern New Jersey Medical Services (West Jersey Health System); Associate Medical Director, US Healthcare. Throughout his career, Dr. DiRenzo continues to practice medicine as a family practice physician.
Dr. DiRenzo obtained his medical degree from the University of Rome in Rome, Italy. He completed his residency at the Tatem-Brown Family Practice Center, West Jersey Hospital, Voorhees, New Jersey; he also served as chief resident.
