Robert M. Segin was promoted to executive vice president for Virtua in September 2010 and promoted to Chief Financial Officer in November 1998. Segin is responsible for the health system’s overall strategic financial planning and treasury management.
Segin currently serves as chief financial officer of Virtua. Segin’s other responsibilities include mergers and acquisitions, planning and development, managed care, health information management, support services, construction management, internal audit, and corporate compliance.
Prior to his promotion to chief financial officer at Virtua, Segin served for 5 years as CFO for West Jersey Health System. He also served as a supervisor at the CPA firm of Pannell Kerr Forster.
Segin received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania in 1979.
Segin is a Certified Public Accountant in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the New Jersey Hospital Association.
Segin serves on various boards including Qualcare, Health Business Solutions, NJHA Unemployment Compensation Fund, Summit Surgical and Jersey Shore ASC. Committee responsibilities include the Qualcare finance committee; NJHA’s finance, investment and audit committees. He also serves on the March of Dimes Born to Shine committee.
Segin was selected as a “CFO of the Year” finalist in the large non-profit category by the Philadelphia Business Journal and NJ Biz in 2010 and 2012.
