The Virtua Foundation is the resource development arm of Virtua. The Foundation serves to enhance Virtua's mission through the development of philanthropic resources and the support of community education and outreach.
As a tax-exempt, publicly-sponsored corporation, the Foundation is responsible for raising funds and using these funds to the maximum advantage of the health system and its patients. Contributions are used to support capital improvements and other worthy programs to meet the needs of Virtua and the community it serves. The Virtua Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, making contributions tax deductible as allowed by law. Our goals include:
- Raising funds for new health service programs and capital improvements throughout Virtua. See How You Can Help.
- Promoting better health through education programs, including the Howard S. Fiala Memorial Oncology Lecture and other community activities.
- Building broad public support for Virtua.
- Managing donations responsibly and ensuring gifts are used according to the donor's wishes.
