Virtua’s strategic initiatives are centered on:
- Improving patient access to high-quality health care
- Partnering with organizations and thought-leaders to promote disease prevention, health and wellness in the region
- Offering patients a seamless experience across phases of care from diagnosis to treatment and recovery
The following are two special strategic initiatives that encompass these goals:
The John M. Tedeschi Pediatric Institute
The Institute's goal is to keep children healthy and out of the hospital by ensuring that the highest level of wellness and preventative care is available in every community throughout New Jersey and beyond.
Meeting this goal involves enhancing Virtua's comprehensive pediatric program of excellence with a robust research arm that seeks out and employs evidenced-based best practices in pediatric care.
The Virtua-McNabb Family Partnership
Donovan McNabb and his wife, Raquel, made a six-figure donation and are commited to raising an additional $2.5 million to help fund the construction of the new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Virtua Voorhees replacement hospital, scheduled to open in 2011.
The completed NICU will be named The McNabb Family Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in honor of their dedication and commitment to Virtua and the families it serves.
