Want to be a nurse?

The Nursing Program at Burlington County College (BCC) is a two-year program leading to an Associate in Applied Science (AAS.NUR) degree. This program combines classroom instruction with laboratory and clinical experiences. Students are admitted twice yearly, into day courses in the fall semester and into evening courses in the spring semester. Graduates are prepared to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses and to provide care as beginning nurses. Want to be a medical record technician?

Get a good start by earning an Associate of Applied Science (AAS.HIT). This program combines courses on campus with clinical experience in health care facilities. A medical record technician's responsibilities typically include: maintaining, compiling, analyzing and evaluating health data, controlling the use and release of health information, and supervising staff. You could work at a hospital, physician's office, nursing home, insurance company or state/federal health agency.

This program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs in cooperation with the Council on Accreditation of the American Health Information Management Association.

Want to work in human services?

An Associate of Applied Science (AAS.HUS) prepares you to be a generalist who can work in a variety of settings, including community health centers, senior citizen and social agencies and organizations, halfway houses, rehabilitation programs, welfare and human resources departments.

Want to be a radiologic technologist?

A radiologic technologist is responsible for the production of recorded radiographs (x-rays). Earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS.RAD) in this full-time day program which begins each summer semester and lasts six consecutive semesters (24 months). The program combines courses on campus with clinical experience in health care facilities and labs.

Students admitted must be CPR certified (health care professionals), complete a satisfactory physical examination to show they can perform the rigorous duties, and have malpractice/liability insurance and personal health insurance during the program. Students are responsible for their own transportation to clinical locations.

Are you a radiologic technologist who wants to earn an associate's degree?

You can earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS.RAD) if you are a radiologic technologist who graduated from a JRCERT accredited hospital-based program and passed the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists certification exam and/or New Jersey State licensure exam. The program requires 64 credits distributed between radiography and general education.

Need to review for allied health entrance exams?

This 12 hour course provides intensive review for students preparing to sit for entrance exams into degree programs in nursing, radiography and health information technology. Topics include vocabulary, reading comprehension, mathematics and chemistry. For information, call 609-894-9311 x7402.
