Virtua announces partnership with Total Turf Experience Indoor Sports Complex
Virtua, a comprehensive multi-hospital healthcare organization, has partnered with Total Turf Experience, an indoor sports facility in Pitman, NJ, slated to open on February 14, 2012. The partnership includes an onsite Virtua Sports Medicine program, community outreach programs, and naming rights of the state-of-the-art sports complex, called the Virtua/Total Turf Experience.
"Virtua's reputation and expertise in sports medicine makes it an outstanding sponsor for us," said Jerry McGough, Total Turf Experience co-founder. "Together, we are committed to making the Virtua/Total Turf Experience a premier destination for athletes in South Jersey."
As part of the Virtua/Total Turf Experience collaboration, a certified athletic trainer will staff Virtua's onsite Sports Medicine Program to provide immediate assessment, first aid and expedite care for any athlete who may be injured while at the complex. Virtua will also provide community educational programs for coaches, fitness trainers and parents on injury prevention and sports nutrition.
"We are pleased that this partnership enables us to promote active lifestyles in our communities," said Richard P. Miller, Virtua CEO. "This facility is the first of its kind in the area and combines the strengths of multiple services to support the needs of developing and accomplished athletes."
The Virtua/Total Turf Experience is the only dedicated indoor soccer, baseball/softball, lacrosse, field hockey and arena football facility in Gloucester County. The complex offers six professional indoor turf fields for adult and youth league play and training. In addition to the Virtua Sports Medicine Program, the complex also includes onsite fitness specialists, a sporting goods store, a healthy bistro and outdoor fields.
