Dr. Klingenstein specializes in the treatment of hip pain in adolescents and young adults, as well as arthritis of the hip and knee. His practice focuses on both conservative and operative treatment of sports hip injuries and conditions resulting from congenital malformations. These childhood hip conditions often go undiagnosed, and create problems in adolescence, and later in life. They include tears to the ring of tissue around the hip socket, called labral tears, hip dysplasia, hip impingement, soft tissue injury, tendonitis and muscle strains, and can be brought on by everyday activity, accidents or sport-related injury.
Dr. Klingenstein is one of a handful of physicians in the US who are fellowship trained in hip arthroscopy (hip scope) and joint preservation. In addition, he also performs minimally invasive hip and knee replacements.
