The Virtua Center for Integrative Medicine is a specialized practice offering a holistic approach to health and healing. Our integrative medicine physician combines conventional medical training with proven alternative therapies to optimize a person’s health. Our center uses only those complementary and alternative treatments which are supported by high-quality evidence and are recognized by the National Institutes of Health.
Acupuncture promotes natural healing by using small needles which, when applied at very precise points, produce stimulation that causes the release of natural, restorative chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord and brain. Acupuncture is used to reduce pain and treat digestive, neurological and muscular disorders, as well as respiratory issues and urinary and menstrual problems.
Biopuncture is a steroid-free injection treatment that uses natural, FDA-regulated, homeopathic remedies to stimulate the body’s healing process. These substances are used to treat pain, swelling, inflammation and toxin accumulation, among other problems. Biopuncture has been found to be successful in controlling pain caused by arthritis, tendinitis, bursitis and acute injuries. It is also beneficial in the treatment of colds, flu and asthma.
Homeopathy is a system of medicine that involves treating individuals with highly diluted natural substances with the goal of triggering the body’s natural system of healing. Each patient receives an in-depth assessment to determine the remedies that will work best to support overall health and well-being. This holistic assessment includes an evaluation of a patient’s current illness, as well as medical history, diet, lifestyle and personality. Homeopathic remedies are FDA-regulated and tailored to each person based on the results of the assessment.
