Virtua offers job seekers dynamic online portal
Virtua’s Human Resource Department has launched an innovative Careers section on Virtua's website. The design and functionality was based on input gathered from job seekers.
“All too often career sections of healthcare and industry websites do not take advantage of advanced technology,” says Michael E. Pepe, Ph.D., Virtua Chief Human Resources Officer. “For many website visitors, their first impression of Virtua is created by the Careers portal and it is imperative that we make it easy to navigate and a relevant experience for potential employees.”
The new site reflects Virtua’s unique culture, providing the job seeker a clear view of behaviors expected from potential employees based on Virtua’s values: integrity, respect and caring.
Virtua recognizes that the current work force is multigenerational. “We developed the new pages with the knowledge that different audiences want different things,” said Tony Petrucelli, Virtua Director of Talent Acquisition. “Some job seekers want the site to be interactive with robust technology and social media; others may not be ready to fully engage. Our site provides options for whatever our visitors want on their terms and in their time.”
The new section provides everything a job seeker could want, right at their finger tips. New features include:
- Schedules for Virtua career open houses and fairs
- Automated job listings with daily updates
- Recognition functionality which guides the applicant to more job listings
- Notification when potential matches become available
“We wanted to provide a platform that will evolve and change according to market needs and the needs of prospective employees,” said Pepe. “We want to engage job seekers in an interactive process that can lead them to meaningful employment with our organization.”
