CHOP at Virtua Pediatric Specialty Center opens
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) recently opened a Specialty Care Center at the Virtua Voorhees Health and Wellness Center, located adjacent to the Virtua Voorhees Hospital.
CHOP at Virtua Specialty Care Center is a 31,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the needs of children with specialized care provided by CHOP physicians.
“The CHOP at Virtua Pediatric Specialty Care Center is a great addition to the Virtua Voorhees Health and Wellness Center,” says Richard P. Miller, President and CEO at Virtua.
At the Center, located on the second floor, families will have access to:
- CHOP pediatric specialists including cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, occupational therapy, orthopedics, physical therapy, pulmonology, and the feeding team.
- Injury-prevention education and nutritional counseling.
- A wide range of diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), echo cardiograms and pulmonary function testing.
In addition to CHOP specialists at the Virtua health & Wellness Center, CHOP-employed physicians provide care in the pediatric inpatient and pediatric emergency units at Voorhees and Mount Holly hospitals. They also provide care in the pediatric intensive care and the neonatal intensive care units at Virtua Voorhees.
“And our relationship continues to grow,” says Miller. “CHOP employed physicians are now providing care in the Virtua Voorhees sleep lab located in the Voorhees Health and Wellness Center. And a new pediatric diagnostic imaging center will be open early next year.”
