Virtua opens Joint Replacement Institute in Voorhees
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to mark the opening of the new Virtua Joint Replacement Institute (VJRI) located in the Virtua Voorhees Health and Wellness Center adjacent to Virtua’s new Voorhees hospital.
This unique hybrid unit contains inpatient and outpatient rooms and will specialize in short stay/same day quadriceps-sparing total knee replacements and minimally invasive hip surgery. This state of the art facility includes 56,000 square feet with six operating rooms and is staffed with nationally renowned orthopedic surgeons who are among only a few in the nation to offer total knee replacement surgery in which the quadriceps tendon is not cut.
“This new home of the Virtua Joint Replacement Institute provides patients with the opportunity to see an orthopedic specialist, attend a pre-surgery educational session, have surgery performed, and be rehabilitated, all in one modern convenient location,” explained Richard P. Miller, President and CEO of Virtua. “The goal of this Institute is to get people back to an active, healthy lifestyle faster than ever before.”
