Virtua celebrates topping off ceremony in Moorestown

Virtua Health & Wellness Center - Moorestown toppping off ceremony
Gathering at the Topping Off Ceremony for Virtua Health & Wellness Center – Moorestown are:
(Left to right) Christopher Chekouras, VP/COO, Virtua Health Services Network, Tony Chigounis, Chairman, Virtua Board of Trustees, John Button, Mayor of Moorestown, Diane Allen, NJ State Senator, Richard P. Miller, Virtua President & CEO, Troy Singleton, NJ State Assemblyman, Robert Hockel, VP, Virtua Ambulatory Services & Development, Jim Rivard, VP, Virtua Support Services, and Bruce Garganio, Burlington County Freeholder Director.

The final steel beam placement at the new Virtua Health & Wellness Center in Moorestown was recently commemorated with a Topping Off ceremony, which signifies the completion of structural steel installation. The event, an ironworker’s tradition, featured two traditional symbols attached to the beam: an American flag for patriotism and an evergreen tree as a symbol of good luck to the building’s occupants.

The Virtua Health & Wellness Center - Moorestown will be a state-of-the-art 200,000-square-foot building housing physician practices, immediate care center, rehabilitation facilities, lab services, imaging services, nutrition counseling, a fitness center and a day spa. It is located on 18 acres in Centerton Square at 401 Young Avenue in Moorestown.

The concept behind Virtua’s Health & Wellness Centers is to keep people healthy. “Virtua is making healthcare choices easier by bringing all of these health and wellness services together at one Burlington County site. Virtua’s Health & Wellness Center – Moorestown provides the community with direct access to Virtua’s high quality health and wellness services and patient-focused care in one place right in their own neighborhood,” said Virtua President and CEO Richard P. Miller. “Moorestown is the perfect location for this center that will serve the residents of Moorestown, Mount Laurel, Hainesport and the surrounding communities.”

Virtua Health & Wellness Center – Moorestown is slated to open to the community in the Fall of 2012.
