Virtua opens new Health & Wellness Center in Voorhees

The new Virtua Health & Wellness Center in Voorhees officially opened its doors on March 5, 2012. The first group of services ready to serve patients includes Summit Surgical Center, Virtua Center for Women, Virtua Fox Chase Cancer Program (includes radiation oncology and other support services), Diagnostic Sleep Lab, an outpatient laboratory and pre-admission testing.
Reconstructive Orthopedics and Reconstructive Physical Therapy also have opened offices in the building. As the year progresses, more services will open their doors until the Center is fully operational by year’s end.
This 300,000-square-foot Health & Wellness Center was designed to provide a variety of services to help people get healthy and stay well. “Virtua recognizes that healthcare needs to be more than helping the sick or injured. It’s also about prevention and wellness programs designed to keep people out of the hospital,” explained Virtua President & CEO Richard P. Miller. ”This Center is integral to Virtua’s mission to keep people healthy and provide the highest quality care when and where it’s needed.”
The new Health & Wellness Center is located on the Virtua Voorhees campus. With both the hospital and the Health & Wellness Center in one location, patients now have easy access to a full-spectrum of healthcare services available at Virtua.
Throughout the remainder of the year, additional services scheduled to open include a new center for the Virtua Joint Replacement Institute, CHOP at Virtua pediatric care, imaging services for adults and children, breast specialty care, cardiology, female pelvic medicine, gynecologic oncology, neurosciences, pain and spine care, pediatric urology, a center for cancer and hematologic disease, a retail shop, and a pharmacy.
This Health & Wellness Center is the second of three centers designed by Virtua. Virtua opened the first center in Washington Township in 2010, and the third will open in Moorestown in late 2012.
