News Room: Press Releases

Virtua opens primary care practice for women

Virtua delivers thousands of babies each year and has a long history of providing outstanding health and wellness services for women. But starting April 1, Virtua kicked it up a notch with the opening of a primary care practice EXCLUSIVELY for women. The Virtua for Women Primary Care & Wellness Center is located at the Health & Wellness Center in Moorestown.

It's led by women practitioners who offer longer appointment times. This allows our providers the time needed to build relationships with the women they care for and understand the demands of their lives. The goal is for women to get the most from their time with us - and leave with the resources and knowledge they to need to live vibrant, balanced and healthy lives. During these visits, our providers can make more individualized recommendations on the steps women can take every day to live healthier lives.

A Checkup that Starts OUTSIDE of the Exam Room
This isn't your typical doctor's office visit. The practice offers home-like comfort and a library of books for your enjoyment. A well-care checkup starts as a conversation in the doctor's office. You'll discuss your medical history as well as your life - everything from your work schedule to your workouts, your daily diet and what stresses you. These elements ALL factor into your overall health, and they're the building blocks for your individual plan for living a healthier life. In addition, you'll have a head-to-toe check examining your body from your scalp to your shins and everything in between. If you schedule your appointment over your lunch hour (like so many of us do), the staff is happy to pick up a healthy lunch for you or provide you with a bag of healthy snacks to keep you energized.

The Virtua for Women Primary Care & Wellness Center also provides:

  • Same-day sick-care visits
  • In-office blood draws
  • Chronic disease management
  • Routine gynecologic care
  • Routine immunizations
  • EKGs (electrocardiograms)
  • Electronic prescriptions sent directly to your pharmacy
  • Referrals to specialists when needed and continuous coordination of your care
  • Spa-like amenities including plush patient robes and gowns and healthy refreshments
  • Flexible hours including evening and Saturday appointments
  • The backup of Virtua Express Urgent Care when the office is not open
  • Onsite patient navigators providing highly personalized service for making appointments with specialists, as well as for diagnostic imaging, procedures and other services
  • On-site, supervised child care for children six months through age 12
