Virtua to hold free Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA) screening
You could be at risk for an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and not know it. Without symptoms, AAAs can go undetected until they rupture and become life-threatening. Screening is the only way to detect aneurysms early and treat them.
If you are over 60 years old and exhibit at least two risk factors – smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, family history of AAA, heart disease, or have had bypass surgery – you are eligible for this free AAA screening. Those who sign up must fast for eight hours prior to their scheduled screening time. If an AAA is detected, you will be evaluated by one of Virtua’s fellowship-trained vascular surgeons.
