Virtua employees make wishes come true in Florida
Forty Virtua Voorhees employees, their families and friends donated their time and talents in August at a Give Kids the World Village - a Florida resort for children with life-threatening illnesses. This is the third year that the Virtua group had made the memorable trip to share the Virtua Experience thousands of miles away.
Give Kids the World provides free lodging and medical support for children who have "wished" to visit Central Florida's many attractions. The Virtua volunteers spent four days assisting with daily activities such as scooping ice cream, serving meals, assisting with photos, operating the carousel and organizing nightly activities.
Beth VanBuskirk, Virtua Voorhees child life specialist, has coordinated this trip for three years. "Our Virtua group truly wowed the families and staff at Give Kids the World," shares Beth. "It feels great knowing that we've made a difference and helped put Virtua on the map."
