The Virtua Dental Center at Camden will provide free dental care and screenings for uninsured and under-insured children—ages 12 and under—who do not have access to care.
The free services, part of the nationally recognized “Give Kids a Smile Day,” will take place 8 am to 4 pm, Friday, February 4, at the Virtua Dental Center, located at 1000 Atlantic Avenue, Camden, NJ. Parents should pre-register their children by calling (856) 246-3545.
All children must have a parental consent /medical history form filled out and signed at time of treatment.
About Give Kids a Smile Program
Each year on the first Friday in February, thousands of dentists and their dental team members across the country provide free oral health care services to underprivileged children in their communities. Last year, more than 44,650 dental team members nationwide participated in Give Kids a Smile, a program first held in 2003 by the American Dental Association (ADA) to provide care and raise awareness of the importance of access to dental care for poor children.
Services rendered include oral hygiene instruction, screenings, cleanings, x-rays, fillings, extractions, fluoride treatments, and much more. Volunteers work to ensure the program is fun and educational and that it gives many children a great first impression of visits to the dentists.
