Virtua Health & Wellness Center coming to Moorestown
Ceremonial shovels of earth signaled the official groundbreaking for Virtua’s new $96 million Health & Wellness Center, with the 200,000-square-foot facility expected to open in late 2012.
The
Virtua Health & Wellness Center - Moorestown, located at 401 Young Ave., is part of Virtua’s initiative to improve access to healthcare services in South Jersey and the region, adding to existing Virtua services in Burlington County that include Virtua Memorial in Mt. Holly, Virtua Marlton, outpatient services and a rehabilitation center. Another Virtua Health & Wellness Center opened in 2010 in Washington Township and a third is scheduled for Voorhees in 2012.

“Wellness is an important part of Virtua’s overall strategy for providing care,” said Richard P. Miller, Virtua CEO. “We have been building healthy communities since our inception more than a decade ago and this Virtua Health & Wellness Center is one more component to expand these services for Moorestown and surrounding communities.”
The Virtua Health & Wellness Center will include an Immediate Care Center that provides timely and convenient treatment of minor, unexpected injuries and illnesses; a fitness center with a gym, weights, three pools and fitness classes; Virtua in Motion physical therapy and rehabilitation; outpatient nutrition and diabetes management programs; orthopaedics; physician offices and vir tú spa.
“This facility will offer residents a one-stop destination for medical and other personal services,” said Ninfa M. Saunders, Virtua President and COO. “It focuses on the needs of patients as a destination for wellness, diagnosis, care and treatment. Our patients will find ease of access to all services in this new location through Virtua’s Access Center and Patient Navigators who will schedule physician and diagnostic appointments, register for wellness programs and classes, and provide a complete patient itinerary to guide them easily through the process.”
The center will also offer cardiac rehabilitation, diagnostic radiology and women’s breast imaging services such as mammography and ultrasounds. There will also be a café and conference space. Everything has been designed to focus on the needs of the patients and visitors, while maintaining a one-stop concept for all patient needs.
