Video: Virtua Voorhees prepares for Move Day
Virtua’s New Voorhees Hospital opens on Sunday, May 22, at 7 a.m. At that time, Virtua will begin moving patients from the current Voorhees Hospital off Evesham Road to the new hospital off Route 73, three and a half miles away. The safety and comfort of the patients is Virtua’s sole focus.
After conducting much research with hospitals across the country and experts in this field, Virtua has identified the best model to move. It confirmed that the best method is to move in one day. Sunday, May 22, was the day strategically selected.
Moving hundreds of patients to a new 368-bed hospital requires flawless coordination. It is why the planning for this move has been years in the making. As this video explains, the planning includes various simulations and a unified Virtua effort.
