President’s Award winner lights the way for Camden’s youth

Virtua President and CEO Richard P. Miller presents this year's President's Award to LaShaunda Carter-Fenner of Virtua Marlton’s Radiology Department.
Virtua’s President’s Award is given to those who go above and beyond their everyday responsibilities. LaShaunda Carter-Fenner received the health system’s highest honor – the 2010 President’s Super STAR award - for her hard work and dedication at Virtua and beyond.
Carter-Fenner works in the Radiology Department at Virtua Marlton and serves on the Employee Activities Committee, is a member of Marlton’s Best Team and has completed Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Coach Training. In her free time, she formed and leads a 4-H club in Camden.
“LaShaunda is helping to shape the future as she demonstrates to the children that there is a big world to explore, and numerous pathways to follow,” said Richard P. Miller, Virtua President and CEO. “We are proud to honor her compassion, kindness and commitment to Camden.”
The STAR represents Virtua’s culture and consists of five elements that allow employees to deliver and outstanding patient experience by focusing on: excellent service, highest clinical quality and safety, employing best people, providing a caring culture, and resource stewardship. The employees who are recognized embody the STAR philosophy.
Carter-Fenner provides children in the 4-H club with unique and exciting educational and volunteer opportunities. She organized a clothing and blanket drive for her club for the homeless in Camden.
During the STAR celebration, Carter-Fenner also received the Dorothy Cox Fisher Award, which is presented to individuals who demonstrate a commitment to civic responsibility, and dedication to improving the quality of life for its residents through volunteerism and other public service achievements.
