FitCare: The transition to a healthier life
Mike Ehrlich, of Cherry Hill, suffered two life-changing, heart attacks in 1994. Thankful to be alive, the high powered executive now works tirelessly to maintain his health. In his search to find a fitness program that offered more, Ehrlich's doctor recommended Virtua's FitCare program at the William G. Rohrer Center for HealthFitness.
Unlike traditional methods of treatment, FitCare offers supervised reconditioning to medically referred individuals who have completed physical or cardiac rehabilitation as well as to individuals suffering from arthritis, asthma, hypertension, obesity, diabetes and cancer. FitCare participants work closely with experienced fitness specialists who carefully guide their activities and report progress to the referring medical professional.
"FitCare can help many people make the transition from dreaming of a healthier lifestyle to achieving their goals," says Jim Ellis, executive director at the William G. Rohrer Center for HealthFitness.
