Get the winning edge with the Center for Athletic Performance
From the adrenaline junky who enjoys the thrill of competing on weekends to the high school student clamoring for that coveted college scholarship, an athlete's drive to be the best includes hours of intense training.
Until now, most local athletes have had to figure out that magic workout combination on their own. But that changed when the
William G. Rohrer Center for HealthFitness opened the Center for Athletic Performance for athletes ages 14 and up.
A team of professionals including sports conditioning specialists, registered dietitians, physical therapists, and sports psychologists develop individualized programs consisting of sports specific personal training, nutrition counseling, injury prevention and even sports performance psychology.
"Athletic competition is tougher than ever and the right training can make the difference between winning and losing," says Jim Ellis, director of Virtua Health's William G. Rohrer Center for HealthFitness. "We've developed a program that uses a scientifically based, systematic way to train the athlete's body and mind for peak performance."
