Need help managing diabetes? You’re not alone.
If you have diabetes, you have an important role in controlling this disease. The certified diabetes educators (CDE) at Virtua Health will work with you to tailor a treatment plan that meets your needs. You can learn to choose healthy foods, maintain physical fitness, check your blood sugar and take the appropriate medication, if necessary. Education is the key to diabetes care.
The Outpatient Diabetes Program at Virtua Health has received education recognition by the
American Diabetes Association (ADA). This distinction identifies quality diabetes self-management education programs that meet the national standards.
A dedicated staff of diabetes educators works closely with the ADA, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the county health departments to develop region-wide diabetes programming to help those with diabetes maintain healthy lifestyles.
