The latest in looking good: Laser facials
"Laser facials are a wonderful way to rejuvenate the face without discomfort or downtime," explains Virtua Health plastic surgeon
Evan Sorokin, MD.
Laser facials are performed by plastic surgeons or dermatologists who use non-ablative lasers, which are a less intense alternative to ablative lasers which remove upper layers of skin. Non-ablative lasers work beneath the surface of the skin and can improve the appearance of fine lines, age spots, sun damage, rosacea and broken capillaries.
What's best is that the procedure requires little healing time. "Female patients can even apply make-up and return to work after treatment," states Dr. Sorokin.
Laser facials are most effective on mild to moderate skin damage; four to six treatments are usually recommended for optimal results. Dr. Sorokin praises the technology: "I've seen dramatic results."
