Can your diet visibly improve your skin?
Need another reason to adopt healthy eating habits? "There is evidence that eating foods rich in antioxidants can promote skin health and protect its appearance," says Virtua Health dermatologist,
Bennett Schwartz, MD. "Fresh fruits and vegetables like broccoli, brussels sprouts, oranges and blueberries are loaded with antioxidants."
Omega-3 fatty acids can also help your skin. Foods high in omega-3 include walnuts, canola oil and seafood like salmon, tuna and mackerel. Drinking eight to ten glasses of water a day makes a difference too.
Dr. Schwartz notes: "A healthy diet can improve the skin's appearance, but the greatest impact comes from protecting the skin from sun exposure and
avoiding smoking and stress."
