Mommy makeover
At 5 am, like clockwork, Sam screamed “change my diaper” in newborn-ese. Though it seemed like another typical day at Casa Sam, today was mommy makeover day at Virtua’s Health and Wellness Center – the first day to myself since I popped out my nine pounds of joy.
The doorbell rang: Grandma came for Sam, and I sailed away to the center. On my schedule, was a Zumba class at the Center for HealthFitness where I rocked and rolled my way back into a post-baby bod. After, I indulged in a yummy salad filled with healthy stuff at the Virtua Café. Then I headed to vir tu´ spa for a manicure and fragrant hand massage.
Leaving the Center, I was in such a Zen-like state that I tripped over my own feet in the parking lot. My ankle blew up like a balloon. Was my day ruined? Not at all -- Virtua’s Immediate Care Center was right there in the Health and Wellness building.
I was examined and had an x-ray in under one hour. No worse for the wear ... my ankle was only strained.
Limping, but refreshed and revitalized, I returned home. Sam smiled then screamed. I grabbed a burp cloth and marked the official end of mommy makeover day.
