Private (mid-life) problems: solved by MD experts

I hit the bathroom three times a night and worry that something serious is going on.

Samuel F. Goldenberg, MD Urologist
“The patient, a man in his mid-40s, made an appointment because his night time bathroom habits had changed dramatically. I took a history and did a physical. There was no history of prostate cancer in his family. Because of his symptoms I recommended a PSA* to stay on the safe side.

His PSA came back at 4 which is a high normal but elevated for his age. I recommended a biopsy to rule out prostate cancer. Fortunately, the biopsy showed no cancer and, as it turned out, a PSA of 4 was normal for this individual.

ADVICE from Dr. Goldenberg
“If you are age 40 and have a family history of prostate cancer or are African-American, you have a higher risk for prostate cancer. Ask your physician about the PSA blood test or make an appointment to see a urologist. I would always rather see you sooner than later.”

*A PSA test measures the amount of prostate specific antigens in the blood. A normal PSA for one man may not be normal for another. A man with a larger prostate gland may have a normally occurring higher PSA because the gland is bigger. And, as a man ages, his PSA may rise.

My sex drive left town and hot-flash is my middle name.

Colleen McCleery, MD Gynecologist
“Menopause hits some women like a train: night sweats, libido and selfesteem gone. My job is to get them back on track so they can once again enjoy life and feel better.

One patient said: ‘I feel like I’m losing my mind.’ I said: No. You’re only losing estrogen and testosterone. For many patients, Exuberan,* a bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, is the remedy for managing menopause. It replaces the estrogen and testosterone a woman had when she was younger.

I’m a gynecologist whose practice is devoted to women dealing with the issues of perimenopause and menopause. Because of this, I can give each patient the time and individual attention she so sorely needs.”

ADVICE from Dr. McCleery
“Feel like a younger version of yourself. I offer a free 20-minute in-office consultation to discuss the issues.”

Call 1-855-VIRTUA-8.

*Exuberan is different from massproduced replacement therapies. It is comprised of biologically identical hormones that are plant-based and compounded for each individual.
