HELENE FULD SCHOOL OF NURSING IN CAMDEN COUNTY

Helene Fuld School of Nursing in Camden County

Welcome to Helene Fuld School of Nursing in Camden County. Over the past century, HFSN has been a proud provider of entry-level education to more than 4,000 professional nurses through its hospital-based diploma program. Just as healthcare has evolved over the years, so has nursing education.

Rose Saunders, EdD, RN, DeanWhat the community has needed from our school in the past is not the same as what it will need going forward. Helene Fuld School of Nursing re-evaluated its mission and strategic plan during the past year. Current literature, voice of the customer, and potential impending legislation related to RN to BSN was carefully reviewed. The outcome of this assessment verified that most healthcare employers today prefer to hire entry-level nurses who are prepared at the baccalaureate level.

The time has come for Helene Fuld School of Nursing to position itself for the future. Helene Fuld will collaborate with Camden County College in identifying a new sponsor to transition to a baccalaureate nursing program. The BSN nurse will meet the needs of healthcare employers today and beyond. The last class of the current two-year diploma program will be admitted in January 2010.

This is an exciting opportunity for those individuals who aspire to become registered nurses to be educated in a BSN program in their own community. Over the coming weeks and months additional information on this innovative educational partnership, including admission criteria and curriculum development, will be posted on our website.

Sincerely,

Rose Saunders, EdD, RN, CNE
Dean, Helene Fuld School of Nursing
