| Virtua has been recognized by the National Research Corporation (NRC) as one of the nation's top hospitals. The Consumer Choice Award showcases hospitals chosen by healthcare consumers for having the highest quality and best image in more than 300 markets throughout the United States. Virtua is one of the select few in the Delaware Valley to receive the 2009/2010 Consumer Choice Award.
"It's a tribute to our entire staff to be recognized as a premier healthcare organization. More people choose Virtua than any other healthcare provider in the region and we are gratified that the people we serve recognize the quality of care that Virtua delivers," said Richard P. Miller, Virtua President and CEO. "This award is a testament from our patients and families that they are provided an outstanding experience."
Virtua received the award based on consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in the annual NRC Healthcare Market Guide study, the largest and most comprehensive consumer healthcare profile of its kind. The guide surveyed more than 250,000 households representing about 450,000 consumers nationwide. No other study used to measure hospital performance and preferences contains more consumer input than NRC's study.
"Healthcare has become an increasingly important issue across the country and empowered consumers are making decisions for themselves and their families when selecting their healthcare facilities and services," said Ginny Martin, President of NRC's Ticker Division. "As care options multiply and financial challenges remain strong, consumer perception of quality continues to grow in importance. Dedication to providing high quality healthcare has become essential for all hospitals." |
