Free cancer screenings for people who can't afford them
Don't let inadequate health insurance keep you from getting a cancer screening that may save your life. Free screenings for breast, cervical, prostate, and colorectal cancers are offered through the Cancer Education and Early Detection (CEED) program. Funded through the state of New Jersey and the Centers for Disease Control, the program is available at Virtua for eligible residents of Camden and Burlington Counties. Emergency Cardiovascular Care Courses
Virtua provides clinical training not only for local nurses, paramedics and physicians, but also for the community. If you are interested in a CPR course, call 1-888-Virtua-3. In June 2001, an on-site inspection by the American Heart Association (AHA) awarded Virtua an overall excellent rating with 100% compliance of AHA guidelines and no recommendations for improvement.
Virtua recognized for workplace efforts to prevent cancer
Virtua received national recognition for its employee wellness program which improves the health of its employees by helping reduce their risks of cancer. The CEO Cancer Gold Standard accreditation from the CEO Roundtable is reserved for companies that meet or exceed rigorous requirements, and puts Virtua in the company of Duke Medicine, the American Cancer Society and Johnson & Johnson.
