VIRTUA PARAMEDIC BIKE TEAM Are you planning an upcoming event?
Everyone knows accidents can happen anytime, anywhere - even at an event. In an emergency, however, time is of the essence and gaining access to patients in a large crowd can be difficult. With the help of the Virtua Paramedic Bike Team, patients can get the care they need, when they need it most.
What services are offered?
Virtua provides uniformed, fully certified paramedics on bikes for free. Each team comes equipped with basic and advanced life support including:
- EKG
- IV therapy
- Airway/intubation
- Medication intervention
In addition to being certified paramedics, the Paramedic Bike Team receives training on traditional bicycle safety, as well as emergency bike response procedures and crowd control.
The paramedics are in constant communication with an emergency department physician and are trained to perform all advanced life support procedures. They work in cooperation with the local ambulance and EMTs to quickly transport the patient to a hospital.
