HELENE FULD SCHOOL OF NURSING IN CAMDEN COUNTY
STUDENT SERVICES

In keeping with the educational philosophy of the Helene Fuld School of Nursing in Camden County (HFSN) a wide variety of student services are provided. It is our hope that these services will provide additional information and support to the student in need, as well as make the time spent at HFSN a rewarding personal and educational experience.

Counseling
The faculty of HFSN believe that counseling is a service designed to guide the student toward a better understanding of his/her academic problems and potential and to help the student prepare for a nursing career and further education. The Assistant Dean for Student Services is responsible for coordinating the school counseling program and referrals. All faculty are responsible for the academic counseling of the students in their class or clinical group. The faculty who are members of the Promotions Committee counsel their assigned students regarding course selection during the registration period.

A variety of counseling services are available through the Academic Support Services Program of Camden County College (CCC). The Advisement Center is located in the Community Center (extension 4454).

Child Care
Child care is available on campus at Camden County College. For more information, call 856-227-6872.

Student Health Services
Campus security should be contacted for general emergencies at 856-374-5089. Emergency care should be initiated by dialing 911.

Medical and Liability Insurance:
Students are required to maintain their own hospitalization insurance as well as student liability insurance. The student is responsible for maintaining and financing their health care. Individuals having any acute/chronic health problems which may affect the normal function of their immune system should be aware that they may be placing themselves at risk by choosing nursing as their profession.

Criminal Background Check/Drug Testing Policy:
All accepted applicants are required to submit to a criminal background investigation and a urine drug screen prior to admission. Students may also be subject to random drug testing during their enrollment at HFSN in accordance with school policy. Instructions are provided upon acceptance to the school. Please do not provide this information prior to acceptance.

Financial Aid Information
Students attending HFSN apply to the Financial Aid Office at Camden County College (CCC) to establish eligibility and to make formal application for funding. Detailed information may be obtained from the CCC annual booklet, Financial Aid Handbook, or by calling the Financial Aid Office at 856-374-4985.

Grievances
Complaints regarding the program which have not been resolved through administrative intervention or grievance procedures may be sent to the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
