Comfort for Those You Love
You want comfort for your loved ones when the end of life is near. Those last months of life can be a tumult of emotions. Yet, you can get piece of mind with high-quality hospice care, which is a way to remain connected to loved ones, while keeping them comfortable. The goal of hospice care isn’t to cure disease. Instead, hospice care treats symptoms such as pain and nausea that result from conditions such as cancer, heart or lung disease, kidney failure or dementia. Hospice care providers also tend to your emotional and spiritual needs throughout the end of life process.
Virtua has partnered with Samaritan Healthcare to offer inpatient hospice care at Virtua Memorial. Our Samaritan Inpatient Hospice Center provides 12 private rooms, decorated to create home-like surroundings. Staff is available to provide round-the-clock care. The center is designed to provide a welcoming environment for you and your loved ones, with these amenities:
- 24-hour visitation and a sleeping recliner for immediate family
- Pet visitation by appointment
- Children’s play area
- Family room
Referrals to hospice care for at-home services may come from patients, caregivers and health professionals. At-home hospice care is provided by Samaritan Healthcare and various other hospice providers throughout the county.
