Ensuring Proper Skin Repair

Wound healing is a complex process by which the skin repairs itself after an injury. Complications sometimes arise, especially if you have a pre-existing condition such as diabetes, decreased immunity, or and a lack of sensation in the feet. People with diabetes are more susceptible to infections that, if left untreated, can lead to amputation.

Our expert, highly credentialed wound-treatment team encompasses:

  • Physical therapists
  • Registered dietitians
  • Advanced-practice nurses
  • Endocrinologists
  • Infectious-disease specialists
  • Foot, ankle, vascular and general surgeons
The wound treatment team will develop an individual plan tailored to your specific needs. Treatments include ultrasound, dressing and pressure relief, electrical stimulation, physical therapy, compression therapy and more. We also offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy, in which patients take in 100 percent pure oxygen that oxygenates the blood to speed healing.

Our Wound Healing Center has two convenient South Jersey locations: Virtua Berlin and the Wellness Center in Washington Township. Each provides comprehensive treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of acute and non-healing wounds. Our follow up with you is for life, too — wound maintenance doesn’t take time off, so neither do we.
