What does "Per Diem" mean?
As a member of our Per Diem staff, you will be there when you’re needed most. You’ll adhere to a flexible schedule and be ready to hit the ground running during peak operation times, to cover vacations, and for special projects. That’s because you may be called in to fill a shift the same day as needed. Many times, Per Diem employees may find themselves transitioning into full-time or part-time roles within a hospital.
How many hours does a "Per Diem" get scheduled?
Your role as a Per Diem employee lends itself to a flexible schedule with varying hours depending on department need and candidate availability.
I already filled out an application for another position. Do I have to put all the information in again?
We take your application seriously—and that’s why each is reviewed separately. So to be considered for a position, you must apply to it directly.
Can I submit a resume for more than one job at a time?
We expect applicants to submit a separate resume and application for each position.
Why can't I change the information on my application/resume?
Once you submit your application, it is considered an official document of Virtua and no alterations can be made. However, if you think of anything else you’d like us to know about you, we invite you to add additional resumes to your profile and application, but you cannot delete any information already submitted.
What is a profile? Why is it important?
Your profile is how we first connect with you. It contains your resume, contact and application information, as well as tracks jobs you have applied to and their status. Your profile is important because it’s how you apply to new positions and review the status of positions for which you previously applied.
What can I change in my profile?
We look forward to learning as much about you as possible. That’s why we encourage you to keep your application and profile up-to-date, by adding resumes or additional information such as education certifications, work experience, references, etc. However, you cannot delete or alter current information on your application or resume. NOTE: If your Work Experience, Education, etc. or any Criminal History information has changed since you last applied, please click on the link of your latest application on file and update your application as necessary. NOTE: Any changes to the application will NOT update previously submitted applications.
Will I be notified either way regarding the interview?
Here at Virtua, we want your application process to be as smooth as possible. That’s why we’ll notify you regarding interviews either way. If you appear to meet the qualifications of the position you are applying for, a recruiter may call you for an interview. If the position closed or we think you may be better suited elsewhere, you will be notified via email. Please take into account that we experience a large volume of applications, so this process may take up to several weeks.
What is a Peer Panel Interview?
Virtua Peer Panel Interviews offer your potential colleagues a chance to get to know you. They typically consist of 2 to 5 employees from within the department of the position for which you are applying. Since your peers will be familiar with the job, they’ll consider your qualifications, experience, and fit within the department and STAR values to decide whether it’s the right match.
What is a Leadership Panel Interview?
If you are applying for a management related position, approximately 3 to 5 employees from outside the department for which you are interviewing will take their time carefully reviewing your candidacy. They’ll assess your STAR cultural and leadership fit through management-based competency questions.
What is considered appropriate attire for an interview?
Here at Virtua, we are proud of our professional appearance—and you should show off yours too for your interview. Please note that professional attire does not include: denim, T-shirts, sweat pants/shirts, shorts, shear clothing, spandex materials, sneakers/athletic shoes, jogging suits and any similar casual attire.
