5 Must-Have Baby Gadgets for New MomsIf I could time travel and visit my past self, I would tell her two things:
You can’t plan for everything that’s to come with motherhood, so just relax. Don’t be annoyed when you receive gifts that aren't on your baby registry. They could save your life.
Here are the top 5 greatest gadgets that I didn’t even know existed until I was a mom - but boy, are they life-savers.
Nursing PillowThis was one of those “I-didn’t-register-for-it-but-someone-still-bought-it-for-me” gifts. And let me tell you, it was the best gift I received.
It’s great because the pillow hooks behind my back and snaps together so it holds the baby up in the proper place.
Sleep MachineI was reluctant to buy a sleep machine at first. After all, why would I spend $45 on a turtle night light? This gem turned out to be a Godsend.
The soothing sound of white noise along with peaceful Aurora borealis-like lights on your little one’s ceiling will put him right asleep. Let me tell you, it’s worth every penny. I never leave home without it.
Video monitorGone are the days when you intercept your neighbor’s baby monitor signal. Video baby monitors are now the new must-have gadget. My son is an active sleeper; he moves around, talks and cries. With the video monitor, I can see that he is not awake and leave him to his dreams.
Color-changing wetness indicatorThis is a definite must-have diaper. When your little one does his deed, the diaper's indicator turns blue telling you that he's wet. This is great for those false alarms when you think the diaper's dirty and it's really not. It’ll save you some time and money!
Hands-free breast pumping braMy husband laughed every time I put this on, but I didn’t mind. The hands-free breast pumping bra made it easy to multi-task. And let’s face it, if you can’t multi-task, you’ll never survive.
The bra held the pumping pieces in place so I didn’t have to use both hands to hold them. I was able to work, read, clean, etc.
If you’re a soon-to-be mom or a new mommy, my hope is that some of these gadgets will help provide some relief, ease and sanity. After all, if we moms don’t stick together, the world would be a crazy place.
