Tracy Carlino is senior vice president and chief nursing officer. In this role, Tracy passionately leads nearly 3,000 nurses and other healthcare professionals across the Virtua system. She establishes and facilitates standards of nursing practice, clinical education, clinical transformation, research, and customer service at Virtua. She has led Virtua’s first Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), supporting excellence at Virtua.
Carlino started her Virtua career while in nursing school as a unit secretary and patient care aide in Camden. She is currently board certified by ANCC Nurse Executive - Advance. She completed the Johnson & Johnson/Wharton Fellows Program in Management for Nurse Executives. Among the highlights of Carlino's accomplishments was her work on Virtua Voorhees’ replacement hospital and the coordination of the safe patient move from the original location to the new facility in 2011.
Carlino is a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt and has been in many leadership positions including vice president of patient care services in two of Virtua’s acute care hospitals, Marlton and Voorhees, prior to her current role.
She graduated from the Helene Fuld School of Nursing and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at La Salle University, a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from La Salle University.
Carlino is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the American Organization of Nurse Executives, and the Organization of Nurse Leaders, New Jersey. She is also a board member for Goodwill Industries of southern New Jersey and Philadelphia. She also serves on the Rowan College at Burlington County and Rutgers-Camden Nursing Advisory Boards.
