Every patient room is private, providing personal space for optimum healing. Comprehensive care
The maternity center at Virtua Voorhees offers sophisticated care from advanced antenatal testing and prenatal support through labor and delivery. The maternity center also provides:

Virtua Voorhees’ McNabb Family NICU features private rooms for high-risk babies. The rooms enable more space for families and equipment, and provide a better healing environment by decreasing stress for newborns. The NICU also includes state-of-the-art equipment and specially trained nurses and physicians to meet the needs of infants born prematurely or with special medical conditions.


For pregnant mothers who are high risk, Virtua Voorhees provides a maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) team regarded for its renowned MFM specialists, highly qualified nurses and staff, advanced technology and compassionate care for families.


Regional Perinatal Center
Virtua Voorhees is designated a Regional Perinatal Center by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. Pregnant women who are at risk for early delivery from hospitals throughout South Jersey can be transported to Virtua Voorhees to receive the highest level of neonatal and perinatal care.

Fellowship-trained surgeons perform more than 10,000 surgeries a year and excel at surgical procedures from complex, minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures to hernia repairs.

The emergency department at Virtua Voorhees divides the emergency room into fast track and acute care areas:


  • The fast track provides prompt treatment for patients with minor illnesses such as ear infections or strep throat or injuries such as cuts and sprains

  • The acute care area provides immediate treatment for patients who may have chest pain or other serious illnesses or injuries that require more diagnostic tests and intensive care

Navigating the Campus

The Virtua Voorhees Campus is divided into neighborhoods A through E. The hospital is comprised of neighborhoods A through C and the Health and Wellness Center is comprised of neighborhoods D and E.


When patients and their families visit the campus, they’ll use the parking lot, entrance and elevator that correspond with the letter that precedes the suite number.


For example, if you are visiting suite E340, you will park in lot E, enter through the E entrance, and take elevator E to the third floor.


Neighborhood A
Incorporates the medical/surgical portion of the hospital, and includes the main entrance, meditation room, retail and dining space, as well as adult medical and surgical patient beds.


Neighborhood B
Includes the women’s and children’s portion of the hospital, dedicated lobby entrance, retail and meeting space, as well as the women and children’s patient beds.


Neighborhood C
Includes all our emergency areas, surgical areas, the imaging department and birthing center including labor and delivery, high-risk obstetrics, and the neonatal intensive care unit. Within neighborhood C, there are three distinct entrances–Children’s Emergency, Adult Emergency, and an entrance for women in labor.

Neighborhood D and E are part of the Health and Wellness Center


Neighborhood D
Includes the Summit Surgical Center, Virtua Cancer Center and a Pediatric Specialty Center providing access to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia specialists for residents of South Jersey.


Neighborhood E
Includes diagnostic testing areas for adults and children, medical office space, conference rooms, a retail pharmacy, the Virtua Eye Center and our Joint Replacement Institute.

Hospitalists

Hospitalists are board-certified internal medicine and family medicine physicians devoted exclusively to the care of patients during a hospital stay. They oversee all patient care and collaborate with specialty physicians and services such as physical therapy and social services.

 

Hospitalists share all relevant information with each patient’s primary care physician to ensure seamless care and thorough follow-up after the patient is discharged.
