Master Curriculum

The following curriculum is applicable only to currently enrolled students through the Class of 2021.

Total credits = 94. The number following each course number is the number of credits for the course.
Students are strongly encouraged to take online courses early prior to the start of the program as shown in the Year 1 Winter and Spring terms. If not possible, coursework will be as arranged by the Drexel liaison (curriculum available upon request).

Transfer Credits

The following information is applicable only to currently enrolled students through the Class of 2021:
Students enrolled in the program may transfer up to 6 credits, contingent upon approval. Only graduate level credits may transfer. All transfer credit must have a grade of B or higher (3.0). The usual time a course from another institution may be valid for transfer is 5 years from the completion of the course until the time of matriculation.

Drexel Admissions and Academic Student Services Manager will make the determination of the applicability of the previously completed coursework to the course the student wishes to receive credit. It is the responsibility of the student to provide a copy of the course description and course objectives to the Drexel Admissions and Academic Student Services Manager.

The student must apply for transfer credit prior to the start of the NAP program. Requests will not be considered after the start of the program.

Upon satisfactory completion of the Clinical Practicum, a total of 23 quarter credit hours will be recorded on the MSN transcript at Drexel.

Travel Requirements

The following information is only applicable to currently enrolled students through the Class of 2021:

Didactic classes are conducted at Drexel University’s Bellet Building located at 15th and Race Street in Philadelphia, PA 19102. In addition, students are required to travel to a variety of clinical sites.

Tuition & Fees

The following information is applicable only for currently enrolled students through the Class of 2021:

Tuition is determined by the NAP’s academic affiliate, Drexel University. Currently the cost per credit is $1,002.00. The total tuition cost of attendance is approximately $94,188.00, plus fees, books, and personal living expenses. Financial aid is available through the Drexel University financial aid department for qualified candidates.  

Additional non-refundable administrative fees include:
  • Application fee ($65.00 — payable to Drexel University)
  • Seat deposit ($1000.00 — payable to Drexel University, applied toward tuition)
  • AANA student membership ($200.00- payable to NBCRNA)
  • Criminal Background Investigation fee -includes a background investigation, drug test, immunization tracker, abuse clearance (approx. $160.00 – Payable to CastleBranch). Some municipalities, i.e. New York municipalities, may incur other costs.
  • Automated Clinical Records Set Up fee ($100.00 Payable to Typhon Group)
  • Fees per quarter-term (Outlined on each tuition bill)
  • One-time National Certification Exam (NCE) Fee ($995 collected through the quarterly fees)
  • 45 CEUs at student’s expense

Other expenses:

  • Textbooks
  • Laptop computer to be utilized for exam administration
  • Clinical equipment i.e. stethoscope and appropriate OR shoes
  • Transportation, parking fees, and meals for clinical rotations are the responsibility of the student

Plan to Transition to the Doctoral Degree

The Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) requires that all students matriculating into a nurse anesthesia educational program on January 1, 2022 or thereafter be enrolled in a program approved by the COA to award a practice doctoral degree.

Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center Nurse Anesthesia Program plans to submit its application to the COA for approval to award the DNP degree in September 2020.  Pending approval by the COA, the program plans to enroll its first doctoral cohort of students in  September 2021.
