Our neurosurgical team—available 24/7—performs endovascular and microsurgery in an advanced hybrid operating room. Our neurosurgery team uses innovative X-ray technology to create a three-dimensional roadmap of blood vessels within the brain, allowing for precise treatment.

Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes began performing organs transplants in 1974 and, today, is the only provider of kidney, liver and pancreas transplants in South Jersey.

Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes is uniquely positioned to allow individuals to take advantage of both the New Jersey Sharing Network and Gift of Life of southeastern Pennsylvania organ donor programs. Patients who opt to dual/multiple list increase their chances of receiving a transplant.

Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes delivers 24/7 care for all pediatric and adult emergencies. 

A direct-to-bed approach for patient assessments assures that patients are seen in the shortest time possible by the most appropriate health care providers. Patient registration occurs directly at the bedside and all records are electronically generated and archived.

The department works closely with our cardiologists and nurses to ensure cardiac patients receive rapid, appropriate treatment. In addition, Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes is one of the few hospitals in the region conducting electrical cardioversion in the ER for patients with irregular heart rhythms. Patients who have the procedure often are able to return home the same day instead of being admitted to the hospital.

Hospitalists are board-certified internal medicine and family medicine physicians devoted exclusively to the care of patients during a hospital stay. They oversee all patient care and collaborate with specialty physicians and services such as physical therapy and social services.

 

Hospitalists share all relevant information with each patient’s primary care physician to ensure seamless care and thorough follow-up after the patient is discharged.
