New Virtua Medford Medical Center Features the Latest in Technology

From the open-floor welcome center that allows staff to connect with patients the minute they walk through the front door, to the spacious exam rooms designed to enhance patient-physician communication, the new Virtua Medford Medical Center features the latest in technology in an environment focused on optimizing the experience for the patient. The center officially opened its doors to patients on December 14.

“When my team came to me with the concept for this center, it was clear that this could be a new path for the future,” said Richard P. Miller, President and CEO of Virtua. “This complex was designed with very unique features to improve the experience of patients and their families.”

Primary care, cardiology care services and Virtua Express Urgent Care are available at the Virtua Medford Medical Center. Kiosks have been added to the traditional check-in process, and a secondary waiting area accommodates family members closer to the exam room. Private areas to check weight and vital signs are located near exam rooms, and point-of-care testing onsite is available for lab studies. Advanced technology allows physicians to share the most important information with patients. In the “team pod”, caregivers and physicians can interact at the heart of the practice where there is full line-of-sight to all exam rooms so clinicians are close to patient activity and fully aware when they are needed.
