Mobile Health and Cancer Screening Unit

Virtua Mobile Health & Cancer Screening Unit

Bringing Cancer Screenings into the Community

Preventive screenings such as mammograms save lives. When cancer and other conditions are found and treated at earlier stages, people generally have a greater chance of survival and better overall quality of life. Yet, many people in our community don’t have access to these simple and vital tests. Barriers such as lack of transportation or scheduling conflicts due to job demands or childcare often prevent people from seeking regular health screenings.

Virtua Health is closing the health screening gap in South Jersey by driving our Mobile Health and Cancer Screening Unit into the communities where it’s needed most. The state-of-the-art, 40-foot vehicle is staffed by a board-certified clinician and a technologist who provide onsite screenings and health education. We accept most health insurance providers, Medicare, and Medicaid. Our mobile unit also provides free screenings through NJ CEED for individuals without health insurance.

Screenings offered include:

How to Be a Host Site

Interested in Hosting an Event?

The mobile unit visits local businesses, places of worship, and community centers to provide convenient access to potentially life-saving screenings. We travel to locations in Camden County, Burlington County, and portions of Gloucester County. There is no fee to host the mobile unit.

If your company or group is interested in hosting, can recruit at least 20 individuals for screening, and provide an appropriate space, we’d love to connect. To ensure the best experience for everyone, there are some requirements for host locations.

Please click to review the requirements and submit an application. If you have questions, please call 856-247-7375.
