Solutions for Ear, Nose and Throat Problems

Your ears, nose and throat can affect your speech, hearing, sense of taste, balance and ability to get a good night’s sleep. Problems related to the ear, nose and throat can wreak havoc on your life.

Virtua’s team of board-certified otolaryngologists (also called ENTs) are prepared to help you find solutions. These doctors diagnose and treat a wide range of common problems such as ear infections, tonsillitis, nose bleeds, sleep apnea, tinnitus and sinus infections, as well as less common conditions that may require more complex treatments.

If surgery is required, Virtua’s ENT surgeons specialize in minimally invasive procedures, including robotic surgery, so that your recovery time is as fast as possible.

Audiology and Hearing Services

In addition, Virtua provides a full-range of audiology services through the Virtua Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation program. Clinically experienced and licensed therapists provide comprehensive hearing services for all ages and can evaluate your hearing, fit you with a hearing aid, or help you address problems with tinnitus, or ringing in your ears.

The audiology department is also able to perform advanced tests on children from birth to 3 years old, including auditory brain stem response testing to detect the presence of central auditory processing disorder (CAPD). Simply put, children with CAPD do not hear correctly because of the way their brains interpret what they hear. And because symptoms of CAPD often mimic other childhood disorders, it’s often mistaken for learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder and depression.
