Postpartum Services and Support

You Are Not Alone

Having a baby is beautiful and exciting, but it also can be scary and exhausting. Your entire world is different in an instant. And things that are supposed to come naturally, don’t always. Your hormones are fluctuating; you’re sleep deprived; and, all the while, you’re trying to be the perfect mom for your newborn. That’s a lot. So, if you need support, advice, or just someone to listen—we’re here.

Breastfeeding
No matter the reason—sore nipples, oversupply, undersupply, a clogged duct, a fungal infection, engorgement, mastitis, nipple shape—our lactation specialist can help. Meet with her one-on-one, in-person or from the comfort of your own home with Virtua eVisits™, or come to one of our lactation support groups.

Postpartum depression
Up to 80 percent of new moms get the “baby blues” in the first few days. You might cry for no reason, be impatient, irritable, restless, and/or anxious. While this is normal, if these symptoms last longer than 2 to 3 weeks, or interfere with your daily life, you may have postpartum depression. If you need support, call our postpartum depression support line at 1-866-380-2229, 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

Female pelvic medicine
You don’t have to live with leaking when you sneeze, cough, laugh or exercise. You don’t have to deal with an overactive bladder, painful intercourse or bowel incontinence. Most pelvic and urinary conditions are treatable with physical therapy. And when surgery is needed, we provide minimally invasive techniques to get you back to life fast. So, don’t put off treatment.

Nutrition and wellness
It’s hard to eat right when you aren’t sleeping and all you want it sugar. It’s hard to find time to shower, let alone exercise. And forget about “me time." We get it, which is why our nutritionists and fitness experts will create a custom plan to help you get back—to you. Custom plans are created using everything from low-calorie meal plans (deemed safe for new mothers) to exercise routines that won’t leave you bored.
