Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment
Osteopathic manipulative treatment, or OMT, is hands-on care. It involves using the hands to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury. Using OMT, your osteopathic physician will move your muscles and joints using techniques that include stretching, gentle pressure and resistance.

Osteopathic physicians certified in neuromusculoskeletal medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine (NMM/OMM) may utilize osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT). While the cause of a problem could respond to OMT, its detection and treatment may require different treatment – such as injection therapy – which are within the scope of the NMM/OMM physician’s expertise.

Injection Therapy
Injection therapies also used for non-surgical pain relief include:

  • Trigger Point Injections
  • Joint Injections/Aspiration
  • Bursal Injections/Aspiration
  • Tendon/Ligament Injections
  • Ultrasound-Guided Injections
  • Peripheral Nerve Blocks
