Shoulder Arthroscopy

Shoulder arthroscopy

Reaching Out for Relief

When your shoulder is injured, a procedure called shoulder arthroscopy may offer a solution. This procedure is just one of the state-of-the-art, minimally invasive surgeries that Virtua’s orthopedic surgeons perform.

Learn about the procedure and after care
During shoulder arthroscopy, the surgeon inserts a tiny camera through a small incision in your shoulder to view the injured area. The surgeon can then insert miniature surgical tools through other small incisions to make repairs. This procedure may be used for injuries and conditions including: torn cartilage or ligaments, rotator cuff injuries, bone spurs, and damage in the joint lining.

Virtua provides comprehensive orthopedic services in South Jersey. If you need hospital care after surgery, we offer specialized units at Virtua Marlton and Virtua Mount Holly for patients who are recovering from orthopedic problems.

Physical therapy is available within these units as a convenient way to help you start resuming your normal activities.
