Pediatric Behavioral Health - CASTLE

Building Better Children's Mental Health

If your child has a mild to severe emotional and behavioral problem, we understand that each day can be a struggle. The Virtua CASTLE (Children Achieving Success through Therapeutic Life Experiences) program provides high quality diagnoses and treatments for children with behavior and mental health issues in South Jersey. Whether your child has been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, anxiety or mood disorder or other emotional problems, the experienced staff of CASTLE can help.

Our care encompasses three levels:

  • Day program
  • After-school program
  • Outpatient program

The day and after-school programs are for children ages 3 through 15. These children receive intensive therapeutic and academic services.

In the outpatient program, children ages 3 to 17 meet with a therapist about once a week for individual or family therapy. For children 3 to 5 years old, CASTLE offers a Therapeutic Nursery. We also provide group therapy, monthly medication management and psychiatric evaluations by a psychiatrist or advanced practice nurse.

You and your child can access CASTLE services Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 7 pm, at the Virtua Health & Wellness Centers in Berlin and Camden. Mental health services are paid for by Medical Assistance, and educational services are paid for by the child’s school district. Door-to-door transportation is offered to eligible participants, and meals and snacks are provided each day.

For more information, download the Virtua CASTLE brochure or call 1-888-VIRTUA-3 (1-888-847-8823).
